The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Extreme north central and northeast Kansas
South central and southeast Nebraska
* Effective this Thursday morning from 125 AM until 800 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...A supercell cluster in southwest Nebraska will likely
persist through the overnight hours while moving eastward, and other
storm development will be possible ahead of the cluster. Severe
outflow gusts up to 75 mph and occasional large hail up to 2.5
inches in diameter will be possible.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40
statute miles north and south of a line from 75 miles west southwest
of Kearney NE to 55 miles east of Beatrice NE. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
