URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 466 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1200 PM EDT Sun Jul 9 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central and Eastern North Carolina South-Central and Southeast Virginia Coastal Waters * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from NOON until 600 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...Ongoing line of thunderstorms is expected to continue moving eastward across southern Virginia and central/eastern North Carolina through the afternoon. Environmental conditions suggest strong to severe storms are possible within this line, with damaging gusts as the main threat. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles east and west of a line from 10 miles southwest of Fayetteville NC to 30 miles northeast of South Hill VA.
