URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 553 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 400 PM CDT Mon Oct 24 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of West-central and Western North Texas * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 400 PM until 900 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Storms will continue to intensify near an eastward moving cold front and along a modifying boundary to its east, where warm/moist air resides. The strongest storms will be capable of severe hail and damaging wind gusts through early/mid-evening. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south southwest of Abilene TX to 20 miles south of Stephenville TX.
