URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 558 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 445 PM EDT Fri Jul 28 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of District Of Columbia Maryland Northern Virginia Eastern West Virginia Coastal Waters * Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 445 PM until 1100 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...A band of thunderstorms with a history of wind damage will move across the higher terrain through the remainder of the afternoon, with additional storm clusters/downbursts expected farther east toward I-95. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles east and west of a line from 10 miles east northeast of Hagerstown MD to 35 miles west of Roanoke VA.
