The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Eastern Colorado
Northeast New Mexico
Oklahoma Panhandle
Texas Panhandle
* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 130 PM until
1000 PM MDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 4
inches in diameter likely
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to intensify this
afternoon into the evening and spread generally from west to east
across the watch area. Large to giant hail is possible with the
more intense supercells, along with severe gusts with the stronger
thunderstorms.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles northwest of
Akron CO to 35 miles west southwest of Dalhart TX. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
