The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Northeastern North Carolina
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Monday evening from 810 PM until 1100 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...The northern part of an organized, bow-echo-producing MCS
may pose a continuing threat for damaging to severe gusts, as it
proceeds from north-central to northeastern NC in the next 2-3
hours.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 20
statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles west of
Elizabeth City NC to 30 miles east of Elizabeth City NC. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
