URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 643 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 505 PM CDT Sun Aug 13 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Central into southeast Kansas * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 505 PM until 1100 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter likely SUMMARY...Scattered supercell development is expected this afternoon and storms will spread east-southeastward through late evening with an attendant threat for large hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter. Some clustering of storms is also expected, which will favor the potential for severe outflow gusts of 60-70 mph. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles northwest of Medicine Lodge KS to 20 miles north northeast of Chanute KS.
