URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 71 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 530 PM CDT Tue Mar 29 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Western Iowa East and Northeast Nebraska * Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 530 PM until 1100 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Initial storm development, which includes the potential for a few supercells, is underway across central Nebraska, with additional development expected across east-central/southeast Nebraska through early evening. The potential will exist for severe hail and damaging winds as storms move generally northeastward. A brief tornado could also occur near the surface low across central Nebraska and/or elsewhere later this evening as the low-level jet increases. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles south southwest of Oneill NE to 55 miles east northeast of Shenandoah IA.
