URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 23 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 440 PM EST Thu Jan 12 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Northeast Georgia Western North Carolina Western and Central South Carolina * Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 440 PM until 1000 PM EST. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible SUMMARY...A broken line of storms will develop northeastward into the region through late afternoon and early/mid-evening. Damaging winds can be expected along with the potential for a few tornadoes. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south of Anderson SC to 25 miles east southeast of Charlotte NC.
