The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  North central Missouri

* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 505 PM until
  900 PM CST.

* Primary threats include...
  A couple tornadoes possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to gradually intensify this
evening as the storms spread northeastward into north central
Missouri.  The near-storm environment will favor a mix of right- and
left-moving supercells initially, with some potential for upscale
growth into a line by late evening.  A couple of tornadoes, damaging
gusts of 60-70 mph and isolated large hail up to 1.5 inches in
diameter will all be possible.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles
east and west of a line from 30 miles northeast of Chillicothe MO to
10 miles east southeast of Knob Noster MO. For a complete depiction

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

surface and aloft to 1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 400. Mean
