The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
The Texas South Plains
* Effective this Wednesday night from 655 PM until Midnight CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 4
inches in diameter likely
SUMMARY...Intense supercells will develop south-southeastward from
the Texas Panhandle into the eastern part of the South Plains. The
storm environment will favor the potential for a few tornadoes, very
large hail of 3-4 inches in diameter, and outflow gusts up to 75
mph. There will also be some chance for upscale growth into a
cluster late this evening, with an increasing threat for damaging
winds.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles
east and west of a line from 35 miles northwest of Childress TX to
85 miles south southwest of Childress TX. For a complete depiction
