The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of
Central and north central Nebraska
Western into south central South Dakota
* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 615 PM
until 100 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
A couple tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80
mph likely
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter likely
SUMMARY...Scattered supercell development will be possible this
evening across central Nebraska and southern South Dakota, while
additional storms will spread into the watch area by late evening
from Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle. Scattered large hail up to
2.5 inches in diameter and a couple of tornadoes will be possible
with the initial supercells. The threat for damaging winds up to 80
mph will increase later this evening into early tonight as storms
grow upscale into one or more clusters.
The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles
east and west of a line from 100 miles north of Rapid City SD to 45

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
