The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Southern and eastern Arkansas
  Extreme southern Illinois
  Western Kentucky
  Extreme southeastern Missouri
  Northwestern Mississippi
  Western Tennessee

* Effective this Thursday morning from 450 AM until NOON CST.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Areas of strong-severe thunderstorms should move
northeastward to eastward across the watch area through the
remainder of the morning, offering damaging gusts, isolated large
hail, and the threat of a few tornadoes.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles
east and west of a line from 50 miles west southwest of Monticello
AR to 15 miles east northeast of Paducah KY. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...This tornado watch replaces tornado
watch number 34. Watch number 34 will not be in effect after 450
AM CST. 

AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
storm motion vector 24035.
