URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 52 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1150 AM EDT Fri Mar 18 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Southeast Alabama Florida Panhandle Southwest Georgia Coastal Waters * Effective this Friday morning and evening from 1150 AM until 700 PM EDT. * Primary threats include... A couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...Air mass moistening and destabilization is expected through the afternoon across southeast Alabama and Florida Panhandle into southwest Georgia, with additional storms expected to develop near and immediately ahead of an ongoing band of storms. Strong low-level shear will support a tornado risk, potentially including a strong tornado, aside from damaging winds. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north northeast of Dothan AL to 15 miles south southeast of Panama City FL.
