The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  Central and south Florida
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning from 445
  PM until 500 AM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes possible

SUMMARY...Major Hurricane Ian will continue to move
north-northeastward toward the southwest Florida coast through early
Wednesday.  East and northeast of the center, occasional supercells
and a few tornadoes will be possible this afternoon across south
Florida and the Keys, and overnight into parts of central Florida.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles
north and south of a line from 50 miles south southwest of Naples FL
to 20 miles south southeast of West Palm Beach FL. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...This tornado watch replaces tornado
watch number 544. Watch number 544 will not be in effect after
445 PM EDT. 

AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 50 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
storm motion vector 17040.
