URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 561 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 535 PM CDT Fri Nov 4 2022 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Western and central Arkansas Northwest Louisiana Southeast Oklahoma East and Northeast Texas * Effective this Friday afternoon from 535 PM until Midnight CDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...A very moist air mass for early November and very strong winds through a deep layer, including a steadily strengthening low-level jet across the ArkLaTex region, will support supercell storms ahead of a cold front. Damaging winds aside, tornadoes will be possible, a few of which could be strong this evening. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles north northeast of Flippin AR to 35 miles southwest of Huntsville TX.
