The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Extreme east central and southeastern Colorado
Western Kansas
The Oklahoma Panhandle
The northern Texas Panhandle
* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 400 PM until
900 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...High-based thunderstorm development is underway along and
ahead of a cold front moving southeastward across eastern Colorado.
The storm environment ahead of the front will favor a mix of
supercells and multicell clusters capable of producing severe
outflow winds up to 75 mph, as well as isolated large hail of 1 to 2
inch diameter through this evening.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles west southwest
of Borger TX to 85 miles north of Garden City KS. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A
