INSTABILITY HAS STEADILY INCREASED OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS AND MESOSCALE ANALYSIS IS SHOWING POCKETS OF MODERATE INSTABILITY WITH SBCAPE VALUES IN THE SRN HIGH PLAINS IN THE 1000 TO 1500 J/KG RANGE. THIS COMBINED WITH INCREASING LOW-LEVEL CONVERGENCE AND STRONG LARGE-SCALE ASCENT ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH WILL SUPPORT A CONTINUED EXPANSION IN CONVECTIVE COVERAGE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. IN ADDITION TO THE INSTABILITY...REGIONAL WSR-88D VWPS AND OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS ARE SHOWING STRONG DEEP-LAYER SHEAR PROFILES ACROSS THE TX PANHANDLE NWD INTO SW KS WHERE 0-6 KM SHEAR IS ESTIMATED FROM 55 TO 70 KT.
